DIY Shorts

Recently, I've had a hard time finding shorts that actually fit. Either the waist is too big, or they're too baggy, and I had a feeling the only way to get past that was to make my own. Sadly, I don't know how to make my own clothing (how cool would that be?!), so I decided to go for the next best thing. Cutting up my old jeans.

I decided to document how I did it, just in case any of you were wondering how to your own DIY shorts(:

Materials I used:

To make the process easier, I started by putting the jeans on & placing the tape where I wanted the shorts to end. I decided to place it a little lower, just in case I didn't like the way it looked. It's always easier to cut more, than to add fabric back on.

After taking them off, I folded the jeans in half, and then cut the pants, one leg at a time.
To add a little flair to the shorts, I folded them up about half an inch. Since the material naturally frays where it was cut, it added to the grunge feel of the shorts.

You may or may not recognize the final product from my Fourth of July DIY video! If you haven't seen it make sure to click on the video below(:
